Gov. Mike DeWine has declared a state of emergency across the state of Ohio amid severe winter weather that is expected to impact the region throughout the weekend.

A major winter storm is expected to sweep across Greater Cincinnati this weekend, bringing a mix of snow, sleet and ice.

The National Weather Service reports extended cold, with possible rain, snow, and strong winds in Columbus and Cincinnati.

Southwest Ohio will see unseasonably cold return this weekend, as well as accumulating snow as a major winter storm moves through the southern and eastern U.S.
